| Die Äpplergalerie can be found in the middle of "Alt Sachsenhausen", just across the river from Frankfurt. The premises are situated in the famous Klappergasse and have been in Christel Hofmann's family for over 80 years. Founded in 1921 by Christel's grandmother as a public-house, the building has continued to play an active part in the social life of Sachsenhausen throughout the years. |

| At the end of 2002, Christel decided to revive family tradition and open up a café and gift-shop on the premises. In doing so, she has taken the opportunity to completely renovate the inside of this classified building. |

| The idea and concept behind Christel Hofmann's Äpplergalerie fits extremely well into the plans of the City of Frankfurt to revitalise this traditional area and to breathe new life into "Alt Sachsenhausen" |
